Speaking Engagements
Bobby Schindler advocates for the medically vulnerable in honor of Terri Schiavo, his sister. He speaks internationally, and can be booked for speaking through Ambassador, and Catholic Speakers Organization.
Bobby Schindler is President of the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network, Associate Scholar at the Charlotte Lozier Institute, and Paige Comstock Cunningham Senior Fellow at Americans United for Life. A full-time pro-life advocate, he and his family have helped thousands of patients and families facing euthanasia threats from healthcare providers and insurers more focused on rationing than life-affirming care. Bobby regularly contributes to LifeNews.com, and is a weekly guest on the SonRise Morning Show. His writings have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, The Linacre Quarterly, The Federalist, Chicago Tribune, TIME, National Review, Human Life Review, Townhall.com, The Daily Caller and others.
Bobby's life took an unexpected turn when his older sister, Terri, mysteriously collapsed and was left with a brain injury while home alone with her husband, Michael Schiavo - an accident that has never been determined. In 1998, Michael, Terri's now estranged husband, sought court permission to starve and dehydrate her to death, Bobby and his family were propelled into a life they'd never imagined. Bobby spoke in defense of his sister on numerous national television and radio programs including Hannity & Colmes, Larry King Live, the Oprah Winfrey Show, The Glenn Beck Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show, The Today Show, Dateline NBC, the 700 Club, EWTN and many others. Bobby and his family published A Life That Matters: The Legacy of Terri Schiavo as a resource for those seeking to understand the true story of Terri’s fight.
As a pro-life advocate, Bobby has spoken in more than 46 states and over a dozen countries. He has addressed young audiences at numerous high schools, colleges, and universities, with a special focus on medical and law students. Drawing from firsthand experience with Terri’s story — which was often misrepresented by mainstream media — he also speaks on issues facing the medically vulnerable today, including the right to food and water, medical ethics, the bioethics movement, and how to uphold human dignity for our cognitively disabled loved ones. Bobby has testified before state legislatures in Texas, Florida, Louisiana, California, Kentucky, and Ohio, and has addressed Members of Parliament in Australia and Canada on protecting the medically vulnerable.
Bobby holds an M.S. in Bioethics from the University of Mary and a Certificate in Health Care Ethics from the National Catholic Bioethics Center, as well as degrees from LaSalle University and Florida State University. He currently serves on the New York State Right to Life advisory board and previously served on the boards of Right to Life of Cincinnati and Pregnancy Center Plus (Cincinnati).
